The majority
of the dogs in our care come into us as strays,
however we understand that there are some genuine cases and circumstances
where people are no longer able to give their dog the care and attention that
it needs (or has been used to) and would rather get help and assistance in
finding the animal a new home, rather than begin to neglect it through lack
of time or other commitments. We recognise this and accept that things do
happen in life that can lead to tough decisions having to be made.
Whether it is due to a change of personal circumstances or the dog itself
is proving difficult to cope with, we will take the dog in and work pro actively
to find a new and suitable home.
We hope that this service will help those people who really want to do the
right thing by their pet and provide them with another option if re homing
is a serious consideration.
We would ask for as much history of the dog as we could get to help find the
best possible home for the dog in the future.
Whilst these animals are not subject to the 8 day rule, all prospective owners
are still home checked, again to try and ensure the right fit for both dog
and owner.
This service is subject to a small charge and unlike larger charity organisations
we will continue to offer this facility.
