Saturday 29th at Pets at Home, Ashford and Sunday 30th October 2011 plus the Halloween Howler

A big thank you to everyone that supported us on our most spooky event of year - The Halloween Howler!

It was a fantastic weekend that helped us raise much needed funds to help us keep our homeless hounds warm and cosy as the dark nights descend. The weekend raised in excess of £800 which with match funding from Barclays will be even more brilliant!

A BIG thank you to everyone - woof woof!

The after party, including best fancy dress, sausage bobbing and musical sits!

Promotional Days

We have found that a wonderful way to promote Chancepixies and our work is to hold promotional days at various pet stores. It is a fantastic way to meet the public, gather support and to help find forever homes for our lovely dogs.

In September we will be holding two such events:

Pets at Home, Folkestone - 3rd and 4th September 2011

Jolleys, Dover - 17th and 18th September 2011

Thank you to both stores for allowing us be present at your premises, hopefully see you there!

Parachute Jump for Chancepixies!

17th August 2011

Heidi Anderson, Tina Chapman and Kevin Goodwin all successfully completed their tandam skydive on Wednesday 17th August. In support of Chancepixies and our work, they threw themselves out of a plane at 12,000 ft (over 2 miles high!), starting their decent at 180mph, then down to 120mph untill the parachute opens for a more 'leisurely' ride down from 9,000ft!

Heidi and Tina both raised sponsorship of around £500 each and Kevin is falling behind a bit, but I'm sure he will catch up! Thank you to all three of you and also to all your wonderful sponsors, that is a brilliant result, thank you x

If you would like to do a parachute jump in aid of Chancepixies, please feel free to sign up via Skyline Events and select Chancepixies as your charity of choice, your madness will make a difference!

Medical Assitance Dog Talk,

Tuesday 26th July 2011, 7.00pm - 8.30pm - Hythe Methodist Church

Have you ever wondered how dogs are trained to detect cancer or to alert people if they are about to have a diabetic or epileptic seizure? The charity Cancer & Bio-detection Dogs (CBD) does just that and will be giving a talk to explain their methods. Their work seeks to establish and develop the extent to which the olfactory ability of dogs can be used to diagnose and identify disease and life threatening conditions in people. Their dogs truly save lives, many on a daily basis. Tickets are £3 and all the money raised goes to the charity. Places are limited, please call Pippa on 01303 269172 to reserve your place.

An Introduction to TTouch

Chancepixies held their first TTouch work shop on 15th May 2011 with Jacqui Carter (p2).

It was a throughly enjoyable and enlightening day, for dogs and people, with everyone learning how to relax, de-stress and communicate better with their pets. Results were almost instant with one of the attendees, an 11 year old GSD jumping into the car after her session, without assistance, something she hadn't done for quite some time!

Many thanks all that took part and supported us and special thanks to Jacqui and willing helper Kelly (training to become a TTouch practioner) for a wonderful day, we all learnt a lot and all look forward to the next event!

One chilled puppy!
