UPDATE!- 11/02/2011 - Brilliant news! Joys foster family have decided to adopt Joy. Joy, now called Tia, will be going on to take the agility world by storm . . . watch this space! Many thanks to Denise and Norman for offering this little gem her perfect forever home.

UPDATE! - 27/10/10 - Once in her foster home, it became apparent that Joy had an intermittent limp. On consultation with the vet it was discovered that Joy had a slipping patella that needed to be repaired.

This surgery has now taken place and Joy is on the road to recovery. This has meant that Chancepixies Animal Rescue has had to cover extra veterinary fees to the tune of £350! Ouch!

If anyone can help us to cover these costs we would be extremely grateful as these extra costs incurred does hamper our efforts to save more dogs from being killed, any donations beyond this figure will go to help us save more dogs.

Please give what you can:

UPDATE! - 8/10/10 - Joy is in her foster home with Denise and 3 canine pals, it is hoped that Joy will train towards competing at agility. Thank you Denise for offering Joy such a perfect chance!

Joy came to us after her 7 days were up having being found as a stray, therefore we have no history or background on her.

Joy is . . . full of joy! Joy is the opposite of 'Hope' in that she is rather exhuberant, so we will be looking for a very active and experienced home to give Joy the start that she deserves.

After a short training session just 5 days after Joy arriving with us we find that she is rather talented, even narrowly missing out from appearing on national TV, unfortunately Joy was not chosen on this occassion, but she continues to enjoy learning new things, going over A frames, jumps and she has an excellent retrieve and recall!

Another chance of stardom! On 7th April 2010, we travelled with Joy and Frodo to the Toto auditions in the Kennel Club building in Warwickshire for the West End production of the Wizard of Oz. Unfortunately, neither of these wonderful dogs were what they were looking for, but both behaved perfectly and would have been brilliant ambassadors for rescue dogs in the UK!

Some of the photos above were taken after we were kindly donated a tunnel by Cristine Nichols, as you can see Joy had immense fun, even if she did prefer to go over rather than through!

Joy, although as you can see, does go out with other dogs, she would not be suitable to live with other dogs as she is on the go the whole time and demands your attention at all times, and we don't think this would fair on your other dogs!

Joy is now health checked, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and been treated against fleas.

Joy with the two legged members of her foster family!

Jay saying farewell to one his favourites.

Joy is an intelligent dog who will need an active home that will keep her mind occupied
